BJP's D'Souza reaches out to Ukhrul voters

Deputy Chief Minister of Goa, Francis D' Souza today expressed strong confidence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerging victorious in the ensuing Parliamentary election.
Attending a one day BJP political conference at town Hall here, D' Souza slammed the Congress Government questioning what the party had done and achieved in the last 60 years of governing the Nation.
Setting the record straight on dubbing the BJP as anti-Christian or a communal party, the Goa Dy CM said that the party follows the principle of positive secularism and respects every religion of the country.
"Give us a chance at Delhi under NaMo's leadership, You'll see India shine," Souza said.
Francis D' Souza was accompanied by the party's Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency candidate, Prof Gangumei Kamei, party leaders like ex-Minister Danny Shaiza, Dr Khashim Ruivah, M Sorin.
D' Souza began his speech by reading out a Bible verse.
Expressing disappointment over the condition of highways, he said he was embarrassed seeing the women folk running here and there to get water due to scarcity of water.
"This is a serious issue that signifies a complete failure of governance," he said.
Pointing out that there is big difference of budgets of two tiny States�Manipur and Goa, Souza said that Goa could be ahead of Manipur in various fields as it is ruled by honest politicians and committed political party.

Acknowledging that many youth from the North East region including Manipur have been migrating to metro cities in their quest for better opportunity, the BJP campaigner said the party would reverse the migration once if voted to power.
Souza boldly predicted that the Congress would be able only to return few of its members in the Lok Sabha this time as most of its prominent opted out of the race due to solid reasons.
The party's Outer Manipur PC candidate Prof Gangumei Kamei dwelt on the need to ensure maintenance of harmonious relations among all communities in multi-ethnic State like Manipur.
He highlighted the BJP's objectives in the State that included promotion and paying special attention to horticulture and handicraft sectors and to preserve herbal medicines.
He promised the audiences to upgrade the national highways to a world class one if in power.
Gangmumei said that it is now time to show the exit door to the alleged corrupt Congress Government so as to let justice prevail.
Making a scathing attack at Congress MP who represented the Outer Manipur PC, the State Secretary of BJP Manipur unit, Ashwani Kumar dubbed him as a 'dummy Parliamentarian' .
The Congress MP, Thangso Baite had hardly spoken for 15 minutes in the Parliament during his entire term of five years, Ashwani said.
Former Minister D Shaiza and Dr Khashim Ruivah also addressed the gatherings.
Meanwhile, the campaign for the ensuing LS election has now gained momentum in Ukhrul district with all parties and their candidates canvassing the voters here.
