Patra fails to grant time to Sarda

Imphal, February 14 2025: BJP NE Coordinator, Sambit Patra has refused to meet BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sarda and other party leaders today.

State BJP president A Sarda and some leaders went to meet Sambit Patra at Imphal Hotel.

However, they were denied an appointment and they had to return without a meeting, said sources in the party.

The source confirmed that Sambit Patra has refused to meet anyone from the BJP Manipur Pradesh even though he continued to meet former BJP Ministers and MLAs.

"The reason for refusing to meet members of BJP Manipur Pradesh is not known, but he has refused to meet anyone in the unit," said the source.

The source said the imposition of the President's Rule has affected the BJP's image in the State and harmed the party machinery.

There has emerged news that the President's Rule has been imposed because the Governor's report alleged that there was a leadership vacuum to stake claim.

This has upset the BJP MLAs, said the source.

Before President's Rule was imposed, BJP NE Coordinator Sambit Patra held a series of closed-door meetings with BJP legislators, but the discussions were restricted to the Manipur crisis only, said the source.
