100 days action plan CM inaugurates projects, lays foundation stones

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has on Monday inaugurated projects worth Rs 176.72 crore and laid foundation stones for other projects which are to be implemented at the cost of Rs 19 crore while attending a programme held as a part of 100 days action points of the new BJP led Government at City Convention Centre.
Addressing the function, the Chief Minister appreciated the people of the State for putting their faith in the Government and said that the day was a very joyous occasion for them.
Further appreciating the bureaucrats and security personnel for supporting the Government in implementing its plans and policies, the Chief Minister said that there is still a lot more to achieve.
Apart from inauguration of projects and laying of foundation stones, the Chief Minister also stated that the Government will provide benefits worth Rs 3.28 crore to the beneficiaries of different schemes while Rs 11.50 crore had been spent on training and skilling programmes.

N Biren continued that the State Government has a group of efficient Ministers who are fully committed to work transparently and complete every project in time.
The Government will announce its target for one year at the end of the first 100-days, he added.
The Chief Minister further lauded the State police, NAB, Intelligence Bureau and Assam Rifles for their contributions in the War on Drugs 2.0 campaign, he said and appealed to all to shun poppy plantation, drug trafficking, illegal construction but encourage afforestation to mitigate climate change.
The Government doesn't target any community or religion in particular, he added.
Stating that the Government will continue the eviction drive against illegal encroachers, he added that the Government will provide rehabilitation to people who genuinely don't have any land of their own and are affected by the eviction process.
The Government has also started identifying land for construction of housing complexes on flat system, he added.
The Chief Minister virtually inaugurated 25 Veterinary Hospitals, 58 dispensaries at different loca- tions and laid the foundation stones for construction of two new Government IITs under Enhancing Skill Development Infrastructure (ESDI) at Noney and Pherzawl under Labour Department.
N Biren also inaugurated four 2x5 MVA, 33/11 KV sub-stations at Wangjing and Heirok in Thoubal District, Leimapokpam in Bishnupur District, Hiyang-thang in Imphal West and Heingang in Imphal East.
Under Social Welfare Department, the Chief Minister distributed benefits to 16,000 beneficiaries under Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme and Chief Minister's Widow Pension Scheme.
N Biren Singh also inaugurated fish hatcheries under Blue Revolution at Nambol, Re-circulatory Aquaculture System at Imphal West and distributed water & soil testing kits to 50 fish farmers under Fisheries Department.
Under Tourism Department, a course on Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition will be started shortly apart from launching Tourism policy and Tourism calendar.
The Chief Minister further inaugurated 15 PMGSY roads under Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, 475 wells under PMKSY, HKKP GW under Minor Irrigation and established sponsored research and industrial consultancy under Manipur Technical University and 50 schools under School Fagathansi under Education Department.
Under the DP and AR, integrated training framework and calendar were also launched while IT Sector Skill Development programme was launched under Information Technology.
Industry Linked Training in the IT/ITES sector for 2000 trainees was also started.
The Chief Minister also distributed tablets to teachers under Star Education programme and to students under State Wide Integrated Education Management System and Digital Learning Platform.
Further, the Chief Minister flagged off 120 students for industry linked training in IT/ITES Sector at Guwahati.
A short film on the achievement of the "War on Drugs" produced by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations was also shown as part of the function.
Several departments also showed short films highlighting their achievements.
Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Dr RK Ranjan, Ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, DGP P Doungel and many others attended the programme.
