Imphal, December 12 2012:
To bring about development in the field of education and to equip the students with best form of education, the State Government has taken up all necessary measures for establishment of Amity University in the State very soon.
This was informed by Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro while speaking as Chief Guest on the occasion of Shija Annual Meet-2012 at the conference hall of Shija Hospital and Research Institute, Langol today.
The Minister went on to say that many of the students of the State prefer to go outside the state for further studies.
This is because of the fact that the educational institutions in the state are not equipped with the best
possible infrastructures.
"This is a serious issue and it is high time that we concentrate and pay more attention on the issue", he said.
So, with an aim to give the best form of education to the students, necessary preparations are underway for establishing a centre of Amity University in the State.
The State Government has also given its approval to the proposal.
It is just a matter of time that a number of students from across the country will be coming to the State for education", the Minister expressed confidence.
The Minister pointed out that there are various obstacles on the path of an individual in trying to excel in his/her works.
We seldom give support to any individual, but rather try to bring them down which is very unfortunate.
We should all come together and act as one.
Terming the interference from some sections of the society over the ASEAN Car Rally which will be passing through the State as unfortunate, the Minister observed that the ASEAN Car Rally is a part of the Look East Policy which will ultimately help it boosting the tourism industry of the State and it is very wrong to interrupt in such an event.
"We all should do away with narrow minded thoughts", the Minister exhorted.
Presided over by Dr Palin, Managing Director, Shija Hospital and Research Institute, the function was also attended by Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar as Guest of Honour.
