Imphal, October 12 2020:
Chief Minister N Biren has goaded BJP workers and supporters to take the responsibility of ensuring that all the five Assembly seats which go to by-polls on November 7 are captured by BJP.
He was speaking at a reception function held in the durbar hall of the Chief Minister's office today in honour of MPCC vice-president N Mangi, Congress spokesman O Nabakishore, former Minister (elected from Jiribam AC) A Biren and S Kebisana of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC.

Notably, former Chief Secretary O Nabakishore contested the last Lok Sabha election on a Congress ticket.
Speaking at the gathering, N Biren said that the primary purpose of fighting and winning elections is to serve the masses.
It was in accordance with the decisions adopted by the party's National and State level committees that BJP ticket has not been allotted to anyone for the by-election at Lilong AC.
Biren said that he is bound to comply with the decision adopted by the party's top leadership.
The real party workers are those workers who follow the decisions of National leaders, he said.
BJP tickets have been given to four candidates while an understanding has been reached with the fifth candidate, Biren said.
It should be the collective responsibility of all party workers to ensure that all five of them win the by-polls, he asserted.
It is unheard of for workers of a disciplined political party to take recourse to agitation, bandh or blockade against a decision taken by the party's National leaders, said the Chief Minister.
Disclosing that BJP could not freely steer the coalition Government in the direction it chose because the coalition partners have their own ideologies, Biren asserted that the upcoming by-election is very crucial for BJP.
The decision of the party's Central leadership was guided by a consideration to do away with the difficulties of running a coalition Government, said the Chief Minister.
He further hinted that another by-election may be notified soon if the cases pending in Court regarding the other vacant Assembly seats are disposed.
The system under which a group of people suppressed and dictated the masses is now a thing of the past.
Whether a party violates rights guaranteed by the Constitution or not should not be judged by another party.
It should be decided either by the High Court or the Supreme Court, he asserted.
A number of Congressmen have joined BJP because the latter successfully defined people's power and democracy at the grass roots level during the last three years and half, and many more Congress men would join BJP soon, he claimed.
