The deputy commissioner, Imphal west, H Imocha, RIMS casualty medical officer, Dr Brojen, associate professor in the department of forensic sciences, RIMS, Dr A Momonchand, and deputy secretary in the office of the state home secretary, T Ranjit, appeared today before the C Upendra commission of enquiry in connection with the June 18 and July 20 incidents.
The DC, Imphal west exhibited ten relevant documents submitted by officials of the state government and other agencies.
Among the documents was one drafted by the SP (Imphal west) on July 20 requesting the DC for promulgation of section 144 of the CrPC on the said day.
Another was an application from the president in charge of the AMSU, seeking permission for surrendering of books to the Governor, with the routes proposed by the AMSU for its procession on the said day.
Dr Brojen, casualty medical officer, RIMS, in his statement told the commission that on July 20, the injured body of Laitongjam Rajkumar was brought around 3:35 pm on July 20 to RIMS casualty by an SI and Rajkumar's brother along with some others.
On examining the person, he said, he found several gunshot injuries with fresh wounds in different parts of the body and the patient was in a.state of shock.
Thereafter, the patient was given immediate medical aid, and was referred to the surgeon for further treatment without delay.
The medical records were also produced before the commission.
Dr A Momonchand, in his testimony before the commission said that on the morning of July 21, around 11 am, he performed post mortem over the dead body of the deceased Rajkumar.
He also gave the detailed procedure followed in the post mortem.
He averred that the fired bullets which pierced through the deceased's body was shot within the effective range of the bullets, and two of the ribs were damaged by a blunt force impact.
