Death count continues with one more

The low count continues with Manipur logging 26 new cases in the last 24 hours, but on the other hand, the low but steady increase in the number of deaths too continues as the State recorded one more death in the last 24 hours to take the total number of deceased persons to 2141 .
So far August alone has accounted for 12 deaths, with Manipur reporting two deaths on August 2, two more on August 4, three deaths on August 6, two deaths on August 10 and one death on August 11 .
The deceased person was from Imphal West and though he had received the first dose of the vaccine, he had co-morbidities, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
The 26 persons who tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours are from Imphal East (6), Imphal West (10), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (2), Ukhrul (2), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (3) .
The 26 cases were detected while testing a total of 745 samples to peg the daily positivity rate at 3.5 percent.
With 26 more added, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State has risen to 1,39,472 including 5019 Central security personnel.
On the other hand 42 persons were discharged form home isolation (25), RIMS (3), JNIMS (1), SHRI (3) and discharged (10) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,37,105 including 5007 Central security personnel and the recovery rate is 98.30 percent.
The number of active cases is 226 inclusive Of 5 Central security personnel.
On August 10, 3099 vaccines were administered to cake the total number of vaccinated people to 31,38,966 including 12,93,294 with the second dose and 2,22,857 with precautionary dose.
Overall 54.17 percent of the eligible population have received the second dose of the vaccine while 62.26 percent have received the first dose.
At JNIMS out of the 38 Covid beds, 11 are occupied while at RIMS out of 62 Covid beds, 14 are occupied.
On August 10, a total of 112 D Type oxygen cylinders and 13 B Type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
