Imphal, September 08 2024:
The All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has asserted that the demand being raised by the Kukis to bifurcate Manipur is based on a false territorial foundation.
ANSAM in a statement said that the demand is outrageous as is based on blatant lies and the invention of a lop-sided history.
Naga people will not accept any further bifurcation of Naga ancestral homeland, ANSAM added.
The apex Naga student organisation went on to say that they take strong exception to the outrageous demands and unwarranted provocations including the recently concluded rally of Kuki-Chin-Mizo in the hill areas on August 31, 2024 across Nagas homeland 'which poses serious political implications and threat to the situation in the State' .

Stating that Nagas are perturbed by the circulation of fabricated information, distorted statements and historical accounts in every press release and memorandum issued by the Kuki community 'which is tantamount to assaulting Naga history and insult to the Naga people', ANSAM maintained that Kuki-Chin recklessly circulating endless fabricated stories and history 'to suit their wild imaginary dream' is unfortunate and alarming.
The Naga student organisation accused the Kuki-Chin of taking undue advantage of the civility and understanding of Nagas towards them.
The association also seriously view the behaviour of Kuki-Chin-Mizo protesters towards the Naga leaders in and around Tumnaopokpi areas on August 31, 2024 while they were conveying gentle caution and advisory not to provoke Nagas to avert any possible confrontation between the two communities, ANSAM added.
ANSAM also questioned the veracity of including the names of Naga tribes; Anal, Aimol, Chiru, Chothe, Lamkang, Moyon, Monsang, Kom etc.
in the flyer of the recent rally taken out by Kuki-Zo community on August 31 .
Claiming that Kuki-Zo people have been baselessly portraying their geography and demography to suit their wildest demands of Kuki land within Naga areas through false territorial claims, ANSAM asserted that such an act of 'blasphemy' should be stopped forthwith as it will only bring chaos and enmity amongst the communities.
Advising the Kuki-Chin brethren to acknowledge and respect the traditional land ownership of the Nagas so as to remain as a good neighbour, the apex Naga student organisation added that raising a demand on false territorial foundation and attempts to befool the various authorities with concocted history, however, is a direct aggression to the Nagas and a burgeoning threat to the North East India, a region of indigenous people.
Any community or individual may have their own aspiration and demand but they should not infringe on the rights, interests and position of others by way of distortion and fabrication, ANSAM added.
Urging the Government of India to sincerely handle the present crisis in Manipur by looking at the issue and the evolving demands and claims in the right perspective based on historical truth, ANSAM said that the history of land and people in the State of Manipur is on record and there should be no confusion in this regard.
Stating that Naga people will not accept any further bifurcation of Naga areas, ANSAM added that bifurcation of Nagas' ancestral homeland or adversely affecting the Nagas in any form while addressing the demand of other communities will have serious ramifications.
