GPS enbaled HPV for Moreh highway flagged off

Chief Minister N Biren Singh flagged off five GPS enabled Highway Patrol Vehicles at Babupara for the Pallel to Moreh stretch on National Highway 102 and lauded the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and the entire police force for their effort to provide security to the public especially along the highways.
Speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister said that the State police force has already flagged off six GPS enabled highway patrol vehicles to cover Kangpokpi and Senapati stretch of the highway.
Similar patrol vehicles will also be sent along Imphal-Jiribam Highway soon, the Chief Minister said.

Saying that the State police can now provide assistance to any driver stranded along the highways, the Chief Minister added that the patrol vehicles plying along the Kangpokpi-Senapati stretch can be reached through mobile number 9612700785 while those along Tengnoupal-Moreh stretch can be communicated by dialling 8794427656 .
N Biren Singh also said that the recruitment drive for the 10th and 11th IRB was conducted to establish a Highway Protection Force.
Director General of Police P Doungel said the rate of criminal activities has been dropping along Mao-Imphal road since the launching of the GPS enabled Highway Patrol Vehicles.
"We are targeting to provide the same services to the Pallel- Moreh road stretch," the DGP said and added the patrol vehicles will also assist the stranded drivers apart from checking the activities of underground outfits and other anti-social elements.
Transport Minister Khashim Vashum, Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, top civil and police officials of the State Government also attended the flagging off ceremony among others.
