One held, four vehicles recovered

Bishnupur, May 08 2022:
A 31 year old man identified as Sawmlian Vaiphei s/o Daikhankhual of Torbung Bazar who was involved in making fake RCs and other documents of stolen vehicles was apprehended by a team of Bishnupur police.
Various incriminating items like PVC cards, laptop, printer, lamination machine etc were earlier recovered from his house.
He revealed that some stolen Activas given to him by one Joy Kumar, a notorious vehicle lifter, were sold through him.
One Activa was also recovered from his house.
Sawmlian Vaiphei disclosed that he was involved in stealing one Tata Xenon from Irong Cheshaba Makha Leikai along with one Md Boicha and Mujib (arrested earlier in connection with a case registered at Kumbi police station) .

As he further disclosed that the Tata Xenon was in the custody of one Lancha Kipgen of New Zalenphai, the police team recovered the same vehicle from the gate of Lancha Kipgen but he managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness.
Meanwhile, a team of Bishnupur commandos rushed to Irong Ichil to nab Md Boicha s/o Late Md Manappi who was the prime accused in stealing the Tata Xenon.
However, he was not found at his home as he was seemingly evading arrest.
Nonetheless, one Duster (car) suspected to be stolen and used in the commission of crime by Md Boicha was found parked at a car-wash in front of his house.
As such, the Duster was promptly seized.
Sawmlian Vaiphei was arrested and four vehicles viz; one Tata Xenon, one Renault, one Gypsy (which he drove) and one Honda Activa were recovered from his possession and at his disclosure.
He has been handed over to Bishnupur police station along with the recovered vehicles.
