Imphal, February 08 2025:
Saying that the recent policies of the Government of India has put the liberation move-ment of Manipur in a totally new situation, the Military Affairs Committee (MAC) of the Koireng-led UNLF has highlighted the need for a review of the revolutionary movement's strategy and tactics.
On the occasion of the 38th raising day (February 9) of its armed wing MPA, the Koireng-led UNLF's MAC has conveyed best wishes to all the people of Manipur.
A statement issued by the MAC said that the Government of India's policy of using armed Kuki groups from Myanmar to wage war in Manipur and transformation of WESEA as battlefields by India and external forces allied to India, and its impacts have put the liberation movement of Manipur to a totally new situation.
The unfolding situation demands a review of strategy and tactics.
From strategic perspective, the armed Kuki groups being used by the Government of India are also ene- mies of the State of Manipur.
As such, both the alien rule of India as well as the armed Kuki groups must be fought with the collective strength of revolutionary organisations, village volunteers and the masses, it said.
In terms of tactics, the primary responsibility of fighting the Kuki aggression should be shouldered by the village volunteers.
Nonetheless, there must be a back-up plan in case village volunteers need reinforcement.
On the other hand, it is only natural for the revolutionary organisations to take the responsibility of fighting the Indian military forces, it said.
The MAC then appealed to all concerned to study the strategy and tactics highlighted above.
As many as 1.50 lakh Indian military personnel have been deployed in Manipur in the name of containing the Kuki-Meitei conflict but the real purpose of deploying such a huge number of military personnel is suppression of Manipur's liberation movement, it alleged.
"In order to defeat this policy of annihilating Manipur, all the people, particularly indigenous communities must be prepared for an all-out war", the MAC said.
The MPA must also be fully prepared to take full responsibility given the totally new situation being faced by the liberation movement.
The first and foremost duty of the MPA is fighting the Indian military forces who are allegedly occupying Manipur.
"Moreover, if our camps are attacked by the proxies of Indian military forces, we must fight back in befitting manner", it said.
The MAC also urged all the MPA fighters to fight the enemy selflessly in order to liberate Manipur and protect all the indigenous communities.
In the face of the growing challenges aimed at annihilating all the indigenous communities, it must be understood that interdependent coexistence with freedom is the only viable means of survival, it asserted.
"If we fail to understand this and cannot co-exist, we will all sink together", the MAC warned.
The most important and inevitable duty of every men and women in order to save Manipur and protect the indigenous communities is creation of a united front of freedom fighters and all the indigenous communities, and fighting the adversary forces collectively, it said.
The Koireng-led UNLF's MAC also paid revolutionary salute to all the martyrs who laid down their lives in the battles fought in the East recently.
It also expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
It hailed all the revolutionary fighters of Manipur who stood their ground and fought back valiantly when their camps were attacked by Indian military forces and KNA(B) by dropping around 200 bombs from drones recently. The MAC further conveyed respect and best wishes to all leaders and revolutionary fighters of the armed wings of fraternal revolutionary organisations.
Offering highest revolutionary salute to all MPA fighters and revolutionary fighters of fraternal revolutionary organisations who had laid down their lives in the course of the liberation movement, the MAC prayed that their souls may rest in peace in the lap of the motherland.
It also paid respect to all the people who have been killed in the ongoing conflict, and conveyed solidarity to all the bereaved families.
