TA & Hills Minister praises frontline health workers

The Health Department, Churachandpur on Wednesday organized "Day of recognition to frontline health care workers on covid-19 management during 1st/2nd wave" at Synod Hall, IB Road, Churachandpur.
TA & Hills, GAD and Transport Minister, Vungzagin Valte; Khaikhopau Ngaihte, ADC and Dr Vumchinpau Tonsing, CMO, Churachandpur graced the function as presidium members.
Recognizing the risk and hardship faced by the frontline workers, V Valte said, "the health workers and frontline workers are taking on significant personal risk, sometimes without adequate equipment to ensure all of us could receive the best care and support we need" .
Terming the workers as 'beautiful, dutiful and mighty warriors', the Minister expressed his sincere appreciation for their work in hospitals, clinics and homes among others.

"The tireless, dedicated but often undervalued role of frontline workers is caring for those who are most vulnerable, keeping us safe despite the hardships and health risks" he asserted.
As per the District Surveillance unit, IDSP/Churachandpur, the district has a total number of 10,087 Covid-19 positive cases, out of which 281 are health care workers and 1037 are from frontline (security) workers.
A total number of 9840 have recovered from the virus while 177 persons succumbed to Covid-19 related complications.
The function honoured 521 frontline workers and two NGOs with certificates of appreciation & gifts.
DLOs from different Departments, doctors, nurses, AWWs and health care workers attended the event.
