Mao Council urges

The Mao Council has sought the intervention of Chief Minister O Ibobi to stop encroachment in Dzuko valley and Kozuri area of Senapati district by a civil organisation based in Nagaland.
The Mao Council has submitted a memorandum in this regard to the CM on April 23 last.
Talking to The Sangai Express, B Neli, who represents Mao Council in the Committee for Kozuri and Dzuko Land Boundary Resolution said that democratic movement would be launched if the State Govt fails to settle the encroachment issue within May 7 .
B Neli, who is also the convener of the CKDLBR pointed out that the Southern Angami People's Organisation (SAPO) has started constructing a road in Kozuri area using heavy machinery including earth movers and excavators since October last year.

The construction of the road from Khuzama to Dzuko-Kozuri was constructed with protection from armed guards.
On the other hand Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has said that the land encroachment at Dzuko valley is a serious issue and added that the State Govt is not a silent spectator.
He said that the inter-State boundary issue is a Union subject.
He added that the State Govt would press the Centre to intervene and do the needful to settle the matter at the earliest.
The State Govt has informed all the Sate officials to talk to their Nagaland counterparts to resolve the matter.
