Imphal, September 05 2014 :
Anti-AFSPA campaigner Irom Chanu Sharmila was remanded to judicial custody till September 19 as she denied to secure her release on PR bond of Rs 10,000 today.
The marathon hunger striker was produced before the Court of JMIC Imphal East under FIR Number 242 (8) 2014 of Porompat Police Station under section 309 of Indian Panel Code.
The Gwuangju award winner was re-arrested on August 22 last as she continued her stir after she was released from the judicial custody following a Court order.
During her appearance in the Court today, Sharmila denied to pay the PR bond and demanded her unconditional release.
Speaking to reporters as she was brought out of the Courtroom, Sharmila expressed discontentment over lack of mass support to her movement.

Sharmila said that although she was optimistic about the outcome of her campaign as she was greeted by a large number of people during her recent visit to Ima Market, people's response after her rearrest was not satisfactory.
Even the Court had acknowledged the fact that her 13-year long movement was not a case of 'attempt to suicide' but simply refusing to eat or drink anything until an Act, which gives sweeping powers to Armed forces, is repealed.
Breaking down to tears, the anti-AFSPA campaigner lamented that she is not satisfied at all with the people's response to her movement.
She questioned whether this was people's answer to her hard struggle of refusing to drink even a single drop of water this 13 long years.
