Central team to study situation, again

Given the upsurge of Covid cases in Manipur, the Centre is sending a 3-member multi disciplinary Central team to aid the State Health Department in managing the pandemic for the second time.
According to office memorandum issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the team including Dr L Ashananda, Sr Regional Director, Regional office of Health and Family Welfare (RoHFW) Manipur (9862032946); Dr Rameshwar, Deputy Director NCDC (9212016252) and Dr Smita Singhal, Consultant Microbiologist and nodal officer for Manipur (9811480889) will depart for Imphal latest by August 5 .
Saying that the team will specifically look at areas of (i) testing, including genome sequencing; (ii) contact tracing; (iii) Covid appropriate behaviour; (iv) availability of hospital beds, sufficient logistic including ambulance, hospital wise case fatality analysis and (v) Covid vaccination progress, it added that the team will also asses the situation, suggest remedial actions and report every evening on the public health activities being undertaken to fight the pandemic ([email protected]) besides submitting the same to the State Government.
