Imphal, July 02 2015 :
Womenfolk and students today staged a rally demanding withdrawal of the Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers (MRVTMW) Bill, 2015 .
The rally which started from Kwakeithel bazar on Tiddim road was blocked by the police at Takhellambam Leikai.
However, the rallyists managed to break the police barricade and marched towards Keishampat junction shouting slogans like 'implement ILP system in Manipur', and 'withdraw MRVTMW Bill' etc.
They were again blocked near The Sangai Express office and later at Sanaleibak daily office.

A woman who fainted in the police-rallyists tussle was given first aid near Sanaleibak daily office.
Nongchup Imphal Apunba Meira Paibi Lup president Laishram Gyaneshori said that the rally was taken out to support JCILPS's pro-ILPS movement.
On March 13 this year, she said, the State Assembly passed MRVTMW Bill, which protects non-locals residing in the State.
Saying that only five MLAs opposed the Bill, Laishram Gyaneshori said that Manipur needs such MLAs who are concerned about the issues besieging the State.
She said that the Bill did not mention any point which was recommended by the 15-member All Political Parties Committee on ILPS.
As such, the Bill must be annulled immediately, she said.
