As the State Govt failed to comply with the demand, the Committee enforced the shutdown today.
Even as all shops remained shut, there was no restriction in traffic movement.
Members of Committee on Bazar Business Community of Paona Bazar and Thangal Bazar said that restriction on parking of vehicles in the areas has impacted the shops located in the areas.
Ramlal Pandey, a shop owner told The Sangai Express that the agitation has crippled business activity in the area which in turn will affect the State's economy.
Moreover, the prohibition on parking of vehicles has affected shopkeepers and daily bread earners are the worst hit, he expressed.
Another shopkeeper commented that the State Government should take a decision at the earliest and bring an amicable solution to this issue.
He added that other parking methods can be implemented in the area for the benefit of all people.
"If the standoff continues, public will be on the losing side," stated the shopkeeper.
