Whereabouts of Kamalbabu still unknown

Even though security forces have been carrying on search operations, the whereabouts and the fate of Laishram Kamalbabu who disappeared from 57 Mountain Division headquarters, Leimakhong on November 25 still remains unknown.
On the other hand, sit-in protest continues at the main gate of the military station demanding safe return of Kamalbabu.
The JAC formed in connection with the disappearance/abduction of Kamalbabu has decided to intensify their agitation by blocking the road leading to and from the military station from tomorrow (Monday) .
JAC spokesman Ibo Moirangcha said that the army has failed to locate the whereabouts of Laishram Kamalbabu and as such, the road leading to the Leimakhong military station would be closed from December 2 .
Generally, army personnel stationed at Leimakhong reach Imphal-Dimapur highway after passing through Makhan and Kanglatongbi.
Members of the JAC went to Kanglatongbi today and talked with the Kanglatongbi Bazar Board and the people of the locality regarding the JAC's plan to block the connecting road used by army troops, Ibo said.
He also appealed to all the people to support the ongoing agitation against the disappearance/abduction of Laishram Kamalbabu from inside the heavily fortified Leimakhong military camp.
Laishram Kamalbabu from Cachar but staying at Kanto works as a supervisor of a construction company engaged in construction works inside the military station.
Some other members of the JAC came to Khwairamband Keithel and appealed to the women vendors to support the agitation against the disappearance/ abduction of Kamalbabu.
Notably, Chief Minister N Biren earlier stated that the State Government, after taking serious note of the disappearance of Kamalbabu inside the military camp, urged the Centre to take up all necessary measures in order to find and rescue the missing civilian.
The Chief Minister even stated that even military camps are no longer secure.
Meanwhile, massive search operations are being carried out by Manipur Police, assisted by the Indian Army with effect from November 25 to trace Laishram Kamalbabu.
Indian army has extended all support and resources to trace him utilising 2000 plus troops, helicopters, drones and army tracker dogs.
Further investigation using technical intelligence is being undertaken.
