Garib Kalyan Sammelan CM highlights merits of BJP Govts

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has highlighted the achievements of BJP led Governments at both the Centre and State while attending the State level function of the "Garib Kalyan Sammelan" at City Convention, Imphal, today.
The Chief Minister was virtually connected with the programme held at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh where the Prime Minister virtually interacted with beneficiaries of various schemes/programmes.
As in other parts of the country, the programme was held across the State to mark the completion of eight years of the Union Government.
Addressing the State level function, N Biren Singh said that the 'Sammelan' is a meaningful function as it is organised to get feedback about the various Centrally sponsored schemes implemented in the last eight years.

The Chief Minister said that Narendra Modi is a friend of every Indian who put maximum efforts to help the people during the peak of the Covid pandemic.
Stating that the Prime Minister thinks only of India's public, especially the poor, N Biren Singh stressed that the State Government has been striving to deliver the benefits of all the schemes at the doorstep of the beneficiaries by launching programmes such as Go to Village, Go to Hills and appointing prabharis for all 68 blocks in the State.
Further highlighting the achievements of Centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in the State, he said that 14,886 pucca houses have been constructed under PMAY (Grameen) .
He said that a total of 29,386 houses were targeted under Phase I, Phase II (2019-20), Phase II (2020-21) and Phase II (2021-22) of the scheme.
The Chief Minister further stated that approval was given to construct 55,804 houses under PMAY (Urban) out of which 4,486 houses have been completed.
The Government has also been providing Rs 6,000 per year to 5,08,410 beneficiaries of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi out of 6,19.2018 registered in three instalments through Direct Benefit Transfer, he added.
Continuing that the Government has also given LPG connection to 1,59,555 households in the State alone under PMUY and another 28,083 LPG connections under Ujjwala 2.0 launched in 2021, N Biren said that 11,510 Anganwadi Centres have also been registered under Poshan Abhiyaan and distributed smartphones and growth monitoring devices to them.
The Chief Minister also informed that Rs 24.27 crore has already been released for Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) which provides Rs 5,000 to pregnant and lactating mothers in three instalments.
Further stating that Manipur was declared an open defecation free State in 2018, N Biren maintained that the Government has constructed 4,51,566 latrines and 102 community sanitary complexes.
N Biren Singh also said that the Prime Minister is aiming to provide drinking water to every household in the country by 2024 under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), 'but the Government is trying to reach the target much earlier as 69 per cent of households in Manipur now have tap water facilities' .
Maintaining that the JJM is being taken up in 2,256 villages covering 4,51,566 rural households in Manipur, N Biren claimed that only 6 per cent of households in Manipur had access to tap water when the mission was launched in 2019 .
Altogether 380 villages have become Har Ghar Jal Village with 100 per cent tap connections, he added.
A film explaining and highlighting the achievements of various Government schemes was also exhibited during the function.
Selected beneficiaries of Government schemes also shared their experiences during the function.
The beneficiaries thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and N Biren for the schemes.
MLAs S Rajen Singh, Karam Shyam, Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar and DGP P Doungel shared the dais with other dignitaries.
