Half Marathon, quiz competition held at Kpi as part of SVEEP campaign

Kangpokpi, March 30 2019:
With an aim to promote free and fair election in the upcoming 17th Lok Sabha Election 2019, a Half-Marathon run was organised this morning as part of SVEEP campaign in Kangpokpi District from Keithelmanbi to Kangpokpi.
Lalithambigai K, IAS, Deputy Commissioner/DEO, Kangpokpi District flagged off the Half Marathon run from Keithelmanbi at 6.30 am today in the presence of Hemant Pandey, IPS, SP Kangpokpi, SVEEP Kangpokpi Nodal Officer, Chunglenmang Kipgen and other various District Level Officers.
Around 130 people including energetic small boys and girls, students of HM Hr Sec School, Keithelmanbi and SFS Daili participated in the half marathon run which began near HM Hr Secondary School, Keithelmanbi and culminated at M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi which is approximately 7/8 Km.
SP Kangpokpi, Hemant Pandey IPS, ADC/ADM Lalramsang Infimates MCS, SVEEP Nodal Officer Chunglenmang MCS, Additional SP Emmanuel Infimate MPS, Maj Subrata Debbarma, Post Commander 38 Assam Rifles, Kangpokpi, SDOs, Election Officers, District Level Officers, staffs of DC Office also attended the event.
The Half Marathon was promoted with the tagline "No runners to be left behind".
A quiz competition was also held at the same venue after the half marathon run to give awareness to the public on inclusive voters and free and fair elections.
The DC, SP, ADM and Additional SP gave away the prizes to the winners of the half-marathon and quiz competition.
A special prize was also given to a participant who got first among female participants.
Azhiihrii, Rohit Gurung and Kayho bagged the first, second and third prize in the boys Half Marathon Run while Pranita Bista and Khushi Gewali bagged the first and second prize donated by SP Kangpokpi in the girl's category.
The winners were also feted with a certificate each while quiz competition winners were also awarded certificate by the DC/DEO Kangpokpi.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Lalithambigai K, IAS, Deputy Commissioner/DEO, Kangpokpi District stated that the half-marathon was organised as an awareness campaign for the use of EVM/VVPAT machines to all voters of the district and the idea of inclusive voters or no voters to be left behind.
She also appreciated Maj Subrata Debbarma, all the participants and even the small kids who came out and won both the quiz and the race.
The DC also extended her appreciation to SVEEP Nodal Officer Chunglenmang and his staffs, who despite of very limited time, organised and made the half-marathon and quiz a successful one.
Addressing the gathering, Chunglenmang Kipgen, Nodal Officer, SVEEP Kangpokpi stated that three polling stations have been identified as Model Polling Stations and will be manned by women polling personnel.
He also thanked Major Subrata Debbarma of 38 Assam Rifles for his immense co-operation in organising the programme.
Later, an awareness programme of EVM/VVPAT was organised at Thomas Ground where the general public was given hands-on training on the use of EVM and VVPAT.
