COPoTR Chandel warns

The Committee on Protection of Tribal Rights (COPoTR), Chandel district today warned of taking up rigorous action against irregular Government staff members in Chandel district headquarters if the State Government fails to take up appropriate action at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons after conducting an inspection at Government offices located in the district headquarters, Ng Joychandra, secretary, COPoTR said that the committee members conducted surprise inspection for the third time with an objective to ensure regular attendance of staff in Government offices.
Most of the staff including some officials were found absent.
Ng Joychandra further said that the committee members will take its own course of action if the State Government fails to take up appropriate action against the irregular staff at the earliest.
During the surprise inspection conducted today, the committee members along with a team of media persons visited the Autonomous District Council's office located at Monsang Pantha where most of the Council Members including the CEO were found absent.
Out of the 23 Autonomous District Council Members, only 8 of them including the Additional CEO and some staff of Veterinary and Account Section were present.
The committee members also visited offices located at Mini Secretariat including Zonal Education Office, District Social Welfare office, District Supply office, NERCOMP, District Statistical office and District Fishery office.
It may be noted that the Chandel Deputy Commissioner has assured of taking up befitting actions against the irregular staff during the committee's second surprise inspection recently.
