Red Shield Div organizes education tour

Imphal, September 29 2011:
A National integration cum educational tour was flagged off from Leimakhong by Major General Binoy Poonnen, VSM, GOC Red Shield Division today.
The tour comprising of 26 school students, four teachers and a team of Officers from Tamei Army Camp was organized by the Red Shield Division.
Participants for a period of 14 days will visit various historical and interesting places including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Man Singh Fort, Jantar-Mantar, Red Fort, Rashtrapati Bhawan and India Gate and other places in Jaipur & Delhi.
The tour was organized to provide an exposure for the students living in remote villages to the modern India.
The aim is to broaden the horizon of the children and at the same time providing a connection with the culture, tradition and customs in the other parts of the country.
Major General Binoy Poonnen, VSM, GOC Red Shield Division encouraged and motivated the students to pursue higher studies and contribute towards nation building.
