Imphal, June 29 2012:
Kanglei Ima Lup, Manipur (KIMA) has pressed for a definite resolution on re-introduction of Inner Line Permit System to check influx of outsiders into Manipur during the ongoing session of the State Assembly.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary Kh Gunabati, KIMA asserted that despite repeated appeals and protests by the people, the Government of Manipur has not been paying attention to the demand for re-introduction of Inner Line Permit System to stop influx of outsiders to Manipur.
If the government does not take any action while there is still time, the day would not be far when the indigenous people of Manipur would lost foothold in their own land as in the case of Tripuri people.
KIMA also announced its support to the movement being spearheaded by FREINDS for re-introduction of Inner Line Permit System in Manipur.
