Imphal, November 28 2024:
Kakching district magistrate has relaxed curfew on Friday from 5 am to 10 am while restricting movement of residents during designated curfew hours.
The order, issued Thursday, also said that schools and colleges in the district headquarters areas will remain closed on Friday and Saturday, as a precautionary measure to maintain peace and tranquillity in the area.
The order, however, permitted shops dealing in essential goods to open during the relaxation hours on Friday, across the district.
However, gatherings, sit-in protests, or rallies are prohibited unless prior approval is obtained from the competent authorities.
The curfew will not apply to essential service personnel, including those in health, electricity, consumer affairs, public distribution, telecommunications, banking, financial institutions, press and media, and municipal services.
Exemptions are also granted to passengers traveling to and from the airport, as well as contractors and workers with valid airport entry permits.
