Foundation day of Leishem Enat Loishang observed

Imphal, November 27 2011: The 7th Foundation Day of Leishem Enat Loishang was celebrated at the palace of Panthou in Wankhei Hijam Leirak, Imphal East today.

The function was graced by Speaker I Hemochandra, Deputy Chairman of the Manipur State Planning Board, Bijoy Koijam and ex-Chairman of Manipur Human Rights Commission as the Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively.

Various traditional and cultural items were demonstrated on the occasion and a dance drama titled "Ningshibanasu Tengthari" based on Siroy Lily was also played.

Delivering the key note address of the function, Dr Th Mohindro of Ima Leishem Enat loishang Foundation Day Organising Committee said that the main objective of the Leishem Enat Loishang in 2006 was to spread the message of love and peace to the world through education, social interaction and cultural exchange.

It also aims to preserve and promote the unique cultural facets of Manipur.

He further went on to say that the Leishem Enat loishang will build national unity among the different communities settling in the state through cultural integration.

The Leishem Enat loishang also offer regular classes to youths on moral education, dance, drama and music.
