Ukhrul DC highlights district developmental projects

The Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul, Joseph Pauline Kamson while addressing the gathering during the Republic day celebration, highlighted the different developmental projects executed in the district to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
Joseph Pauline Kamson who attended the 72nd Republic day celebration as the chief guest unfurled the tricolour National flag at Mini Secretariat office complex Hamleikhong, Ukhrul, in the presence of Superintendent of Police, Worngam Ningshen; ADC chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung; ADM Dipu Gangmei; Councilors; headmen and DLOs.
The 72nd Republic day parade was led by commander SDPO, Ukhrul CL Thotreithing.
During the function, entertainment programmes from school children and folk dance by Kasomtang youth were displayed.
Addressing the programme, Joseph Pauline Kamson stated that the State Government has put much effort to develop the district and has implemented various projects to ensure economic well being of the people.
Ukhrul district generates 59.09 average Mandays for MGNREGS Job card holders and is highest in the State.
Under PMAY-G, 1297 rural houses have been constructed, and another 1506 houses will be constructed this financial year at a unit cost of Rs 1,30,000 per beneficiary, he added.
Infrastructure development works have also been taken up under BADP,MSDP, MLA-LADP & MP-LADS in Ukhrul.
He highlighted the Water supply schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission, the construction of Dam at Langdang village and similar project at Paorei Village.
Through SBM, 22,207 Individual Household latrines have been constructed, and 119 Community Sanitary complex latrines were constructed.
Joseph Pauline Kamson, further appealed to the CSOs and the public to extend their cooperation to the executing agencies for smooth implementation and timely completion of the work.
