Imphal, May 26 2020:
Satellite radio transmitter tagged Amur Falcon, Barak has reached Meghalaya border after cyclone Amphan unleased its terror in West Bengal and Odisha, said Wildlife Institute of India (WII).
Barak had sought safe shelter from cyclone Amphan at Kondagaon in Chhattisgarh which is located about 300 kilometres from the sea coast of Odisha.
Meanwhile, Irang has flown past Wuhan, the first epicentre of coronavirus in China and reached its breeding ground, said WII.
Both the Amur Falcons were tagged with satellite radio transmitters in Manipur to study their migratory patterns.
Amur Falcon breeds in south-eastern Siberia and northern China before migrating across India and over the Arabian Sea to Southern Africa in winter.
