Four-month long District Digest training prog begins

Nov With a view to self employ women of Bishnupur district, a four month long training for tailoring was inaugurated by MLA of Kumbi AC, S Bira Singh today.
An awareness programme on labour was also conducted.
The training programme was organised by Kumbi Kendra Construction Worker's Union, under the sponsorship of Manipur Building & Others Construction Worker's Board, at the residence of one Thangjam Irabando Singh in Kumbi Makha Leikai.
The inaugural function was attended by MLA S Bira as chief guest, Kumbi Municipal Council Chairperson N Ibecha Devi as president and vice Chairperson of Kumbi Municipal Council W Bobbychand Luwang and Laishram Bijeta Devi of Labour Department as guests of honour.
The Labour Department distributed 150 sewing machines to three tailoring and cutting centres, which have a capacity of 50 member each.
Three instructors from Labour Department will be teaching the total 150 participants during the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, S Bira stated that housewives or ladies who have free time can indulge into such training programmes so that it could give self employment and behave as a hobby to hone their skills.
He urged all the participants to avail the opportunities efficiently and attend diligently.
