DESAM conducts mega blood donation camp at RIMS

Imphal, April 25 2021: The 74th mega blood donation camp of Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) was held today at the blood bank of RIMS under the theme "Maheiroi khunai amadi leibak miyaamgidamakta kathoklaba ee".

By the sideline of the camp, assistant secretary general of DESAM, M Somorjit Luwang stated that the blood donation camp will also be held at JNIMS and Shija Hospital too.

The camp at RIMS will continue till tomorrow (April 26), he said and added that altogether 20 donors donated blood today.

He also said that DESAM is also considering launching a campaign to alleviate the shortage of blood in the State by joining hands with RIMS, JNIMS, Shija Hospital.

Stating that DESAM had earlier highlighted the problems being faced by people of Jiribam at the time of health emergency due to absence of blood bank in the district, Somorjit urged the State Government to open a blood bank at the said district.
