Najma leads in extending R-Day wishes

Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has conveyed her best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Republic Day.
She stated that India became a Republic on January 26, 1950 and adopted the Constitution of India.
India is a rising power and is fast emerging as a global leader whose economic success is envied by the world, she added.
Appealing the people to uphold and promote the secular, socialist and democratic values enshrined in the Constitution and work collectively for a peaceful and prosperous State, she once again wished the people of Manipur on the occasion of Republic Day.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh also conveyed warm greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of the 69th Republic Day.
He said that Republic Day is an important landmark in Indian history.
He further stated that on this day in 1950, India entered a new era as the Indian Constitution came into force and India declared herself to be a sovereign democratic republic.
He also appealed to the people to re-dedicate themselves to work together to make Manipur a land of peace and prosperity that the people can be proud of.
Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar Singh also extended his best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Republic Day.
He further urged the people to uphold the secular, socialist and democratic values which are the pillars of the Nation and work together to bring peace and prosperity.
Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh and Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen also conveyed their greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Republic Day.
