The protesters, while relaying their demand to the DC, urged the State Govt to extend their time of business till the Ningol Chakkouba festival.
However, the DC failed to give a positive response which led the protesters to block the DC's vehicle and stopping him from leaving the area until an agreement was brought to the matter.
Eventually, a large number of police personnel gathered and dispersed the street vendors while the DC also left the spot.
Speaking to media persons, one of the street vendors maintained that as per the order of the Govt, the curfew for the street vendors to conduct their business in Khwairamband keithel is till 9 am in the morning while they can continue from 4 pm in the evening.
The street vendor continued that since the time period given by the Government are odd timings where people don't usually come to buy the essential commodities which in turn affects the business of the street vendors.
As such the street vendors are appealing to the authorities concerned to extend the time only till the Ningol Chakkouba festival, the street vendor maintained.
