Imphal, September 22 2013:
Apart from keeping high security alert 24x7, an Enquiry Commission led by Additional DGP (AP) PM Goud has been formed to probe into the recent bomb blast incidents in front of the gate of Chief Minister's Bungalow and along the Governor's Road, DGP MK Das has disclosed.
In an exclusively interview with Hueiyen Lanpao, DGP MK Das said that the Enquiry Commission would find out and see whether there was any loophole in the security arrangement made and how the perpetrators managed to trigger blast it in such a high security zone area.
Additional DGP (AP) PM Goud has been appointed as the Chairman of the Enquiry Commission and he has been instructed to submit a report within a period of one month, the DGP added.
He went on to inform that the proposal made by Home Minister Gaikhangam during the Security meeting held at the banquet hall of 1st MR for initiating foot patrolling has been put into force.
Police personnel are being deployed for duty at all important places of Imphal East and Imphal West district round the clock.

The Police Department is trying to make its personnel people friendly as envisaged by the Home Minister.
Various imminent persons of the State have also been consulted and their advice taken to make the Police Department more people friendly.
Since it might take some time in putting this into action, the people are requested to have trust in the police and give all cooperation in this regard, the DGP appealed.
Meanwhile, according to a highly reliable source, the Enquiry Commission has been formed by the Home Department following written instructions from the Governor who has taken the two bomb blast incidents very seriously.
During the enquiry, the security arrangements taken up in Imphal city would be looked into and the security measures taken up in the High Security Zone areas by IG (LO-I), DIG (Range-1) and SP of Imphal West will be further checked and inspected.
Since the Governor has taken the two bomb blasts incidents seriously, the Commission would enquire whether the police personnel on duty were careless in handling such situations or not.
If any of the police personnel were found committing some faults, then the Commission would recommend for taking up strict actions, the source added.
It may be recalled here that bomb blast in front of the Gate of the Chief Minister's Bungalow occurred in the night of August 11 and PREPAK (PRO) has subsequently claimed responsibility for the attack.
No one was hurt in the incident.
On the other hand, the bomb blast along the Governor Road occurred on August 31 at around 3:30 pm.
A couple and a CRPF jawan sustained injuries in the blast.
The incident of bomb blasts at the Chief Minister's Bungalow has occurred not less than three times.
A bomb fitted car was also found inside the complex of Raj Bhavan which housed the bungalow of the Governor in the past.
The bomb blast along the Governor's road was the latest such incident of attacks.
