Imphal, July 22 2020:
The Non-teaching Employees' Welfare Association (NTEWA) of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal has demanded immediate withdrawal of the decision of the Director to outsource 404 contract employees.
Accusing RIMS administration of victimising the non-teaching staff, the association in a statement alleged that many of the staff got transferred to other Departments/sections for "not falling in line".
The staff have also been warned not to participate in any discussion initiated by the association regarding the outsourcing of 404 contract employees of RIMS, claimed NTEWA.
The association further asserted that those staff who were working in various committees constituted to fight COVID-19 in RIMS (members of catering committee and also those in-charge of preparing duty roster of non-teaching staff) have been transferred to Bishnupur District Community Centre and other Sections/Departments.
Alleging that the higher ups in the administration lack knowledge and experience, the association demanded that a new Deputy Director who is well versed with the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules be appointed immediately.
Citing alleged administrative lapses in the institute, the association claimed that a lady staff who had applied for maternity leave was denied leave and instead she was transferred to another Department/Section.
Demanding immediate withdrawal of the decision to outsource 404 contract employees, the association appealed that the transfer and posting of non-teaching staff be stopped immediately.
Disciplinary actions initiated against the office bearers/members of the association should be stopped immediately and the conduct of the present RIMS Director should be investigated.
During the period of investigation, a competent Professor should take charge as Director RIMS, demanded the association.
