State Govt's apathy on infrastructural development irks Kamjong denizens

Prolong negligence by the State Government to bring infrastructural development in Kamjong has irked the denizens, said organisations based in Kamjong today.
President of Kamjong Block Development Committee (KDC) Wiseson stated that a team of Kamjong area civil society organizations -Kamjong Development Committee KDC, Raizan Katamnao Long (RKL) and Kamjong Student Union (KSU) had conducted an independent inspection of established Government offices and schools at the Kamjong block headquarter.
Speaking about the various Government offices in Kamjong Wiseson said that the block headquarter is functioning without SDO office complex.
The office complex was burned down during UNC agitation against the creation of new district.
The State Government is yet to construct the building complex to accommodate Agriculture Dept, Posts Office, Horticulture Dept and Veterinary Department.
Some staffs are already posted in these institutions but they are unable to function properly, Wiseson said.
The report of the independent inspection conducted by the organisations found that the health care facility, CHC Kamjong has no sufficient medical staffs and lacks laboratory.
Labour room in the centre is far from completion.
Non availability of medicines in time at Kamjong CHC has worsened the health care system.
Speaking about the law enforcers in Kamjong the KDC president said that the Chassad Police Station lacks vehicles, fencing and barrack.
PHE Dept existed for namesake, stated KKL president Ninghor Keishing pointing out that nothing has been done to restore damaged pipelines and the water reservoirs for many years.
The president of RKL Yarmatai expressed that the lone Kamjong Govt High School and Kiran Seva aided school are deprived of basic school infrastructure with no computer lab, library and science lab.
There is no adequate teachers in these schools, he added.
The frequent transfer of officials and teachers from CHC and school without sending replacements has added to the woes of the people, said Yarmatai.
Speaking about the telephone service providers in the area, the organisations urged the service providers BSNL and Airtel to improve their services.
The organisations appealed State Government to look into the deteriorating institutions in Kamjong and take up actions for greater good of the people.
The organisations further appealed the BJP led Government to uphold its promise to the hills.
