Strict action against forged IDs, warns Monitoring Committee

Strict actions will be taken against those involved in forging identity cards and those caught using the fake IDs in the upcoming MUSU election, 2020-21 .
Thokchom Suresh, convenor of Monitoring Committee, said this in a press conference held today at Manipur University and added that all concerned had been directed by the Dean of Students' Welfare, MU to complete making new ID cards and renewal before January 30.He added that a Monitoring Committee was formed and a fourteen point code of conduct was also put into effect from 6 pm of January 16 so that the upcoming election can be held in a free and fair manner.
Th Suresh added that all the departments and centres should immediately stop giving permission to organise farewell and freshers' meet programmes and urged all the teaching and non-teaching staff to extend cooperation to the monitoring committee.
Students caught using forged IDs will lose their voting rights and will be barred from entering the university campus on the day of the voting and FIR will be lodged against those involved in forging the IDs, he warned.
