Cadres of KCP-MC (Lallumba) sensitized on Rehab packages

With the main objective of sensitizing the cadres of KCP-MC (Lallumba) group on the issues pertaining to their rehabilitation as envisaged under the tripartite Agreement signed with the group in 2010 and renewed in August, 2011 for a period of one year, a workshop was organized at 7 MR Bn HQ today.
The day-long workshop was attended by concerned police/government/bank officials.
In the workshop, officials of UBI, Imphal, which is the nodal bank for rehabilitation, made a detailed presentation on the avenues open to the cadres and the procedure involved in availing financial assistance from the bank under various schemes.
The cadres were also exhorted to make the best use of this opportunity towards self-employment.
According to a statement issued by Additional SP/CID (SB), Manipur S Gautam Singh for the Chairman of Joint Monitoring Group, today's programme was a part of the rehabilitation process undertaken by the government.
Earlier, the cadres of the Group were given three month's vocational training at the Art of Living Foundation, Pune.
Earlier, the cadres were given vocational training in driving by the Assam Rifles and vocational training in various trades like poultry farming, piggery farming and fish culture by various institutes like Central Agriculture University, Iroisemba and State Fishery department.
As part o the rehabilitation package, the leaders and cadres of the Group are also given monthly stipend and one- time financial assistance along with weapon incentive would be paid to the cadres/leaders.
The State Government through the Joint Monitoring Group is closely monitoring early implementation of the Special Rehabilitation Package provided for the cadres in the Tripartite Agreement to enable them to lead normal life.
Combined team nab KCP (MC) cadre :A combined team of Imphal East District Police Commandos and personnel of 28 Assam Rifles arrested one KCP (MC) from in front of NRL Oil Pump, Khurai Thangjam Leikai at around 2.30 pm on October 18 .
According to a statement issued by the SP of Imphal East district, the arrested KCP (MC) cadre has been identified as Yaithengbam Inao alias Yaiphaba (38) s/o Y Yaima of Khurai Thangjam Leikai.
The SP informed that one 9 mm pistol marked as 'Auto Pistol 9 rounds only made in USA' and loaded with two live rounds in the magazine and one Chinese made hand grenade were recovered from the possession of the arrested cadre.
On spot verification, Inao disclosed that he joined KCP (MC) in September 2011 through one Rajkumar alias Alex and is now working under his command in extorting money from general public, govt officials, businessmen, etc.
Furthermore, Inao disclosed that he had been earlier arrested as a PLA cadre and released on bail, the SP added.
