Chandel, August 21 2012: Distribution of pensions to aged persons, widows and disabled persons of Chandel district under National Social Assistant Programme (NSAP) begun since yesterday.

District Social Welfare Office, Chandel in association with Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) and Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) distributed the pension amounts in functions held at Chakpikarong and Chandel Block.

During these functions, Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pensions, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pensions and Indira Gandhi National Disabled Pensions were distributed to around 600 beneficiaries.

Speaking at these functions, District Social Welfare Officer, Chandel district, M Chaoba appealed to the beneficiaries to open their bank accounts at the earliest to avoid further inconveniences in getting their pensions.
