IGNTUSU-RCM boycotts Entrance Test

Kangpokpi (Senapati), May 21 2015 : Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Students' Union, Regional Campus Manipur has today strongly condemned the decision of the university authority of IGNTU, Amarkantak, MP with regard to the reduction of intake capacity in admission for the academic session 2015-2016 and said it will boycott the entrance test which is to be held tomorrow.

Hemkholen Haokip, vice president, IGNTUSU-RCM said that the decision of the university authority of IGNTU, Amarkantak, MP was disappointing and totally against the students community.

As per the academic record, the number of passed out graduates every year in the State is more than the number of intake capacity both in Manipur University and IGNTU-RCM, pointed out Hemkholal Haokip and added that the State Government has recently approved setting up two more universities in the State in order to solve such problems.

However, it is unfortunate to learn that the university authority of IGNTU, Amarkantak, MP has decided to reduce the intake capacity, he added.

With a decision to boycott the entrance test until the authority concerned revoke its decision, the students' union has demanded increment of intake capacity from 30 to 50 seats.
