Training programme wraps up

The Precision Farming Development Centre (PFDC) at the College of Agriculture, Iroisemba, CAU, Imphal, concluded its one-week customized skill development training programme on "Micro Irrigation Technologies" today.
Sponsored by the National Committee on Precision Agriculture and Horticulture (NCPAH), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, the training was held from January 15 to 21 .
Thirty farmers enrolled in the training programme.
Over the course of seven days, they were exposed to various aspects of micro-irrigation systems, including drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, fertigation, and their practical applications in different cropping systems.
The programme aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of farmers in the region about advanced micro-irrigation techniques.
The valedictory function was graced by Professor N Brajendra Singh, Dean of the College of Agriculture, CAU, Imphal as the chief guest; Professor K Mamocha Singh, Head of Department of Entomology, CAU, Imphal and Professor AK Bijaya Devi, Department of Horticulture, CAU, Imphal as the guests of honour, while Professor U Chaoba Singh, Department of Horticulture, CAU, Imphal presided over the event.
Professor Ng Joykumar Singh, Co-PI, PFDC, Imphal Centre welcomed the gathering with an address, highlighting the importance of the training.
Professor Ng Piloo, PI, PFDC, Imphal Centre, presented a detailed report on the training sessions, outlining the key areas covered and die active participation of fanners.
The function also featured virtual speeches by many special invitees.
Certificates were distributed to the participants.
