Imphal, July 20 2024: Proscribed outfit KCP and its military unit detained a man and a married woman who were in an alleged illicit relationship and later handed them over to family members in an area in Thoubal yesterday.

While the man has been identified as Khumanlambam Rakesh of Korsantabi, the married woman has been identified as a resident of Khongyam.

They were earlier detained by Meira Paibis on the charge of having illicit relationship, and KCP had summoned them yesterday for questioning.

During the questioning, they confessed to their crimes, and were let off with a strong warning, said KCP.

The proscribed group said its action and crackdown on illicit affairs is aimed at protecting women and empowering them.
