Centre for Indo-Myanmar relation in Imphal

Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has assured that the Centre will mull over various opportunities to set up a Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Centre for Indo-Myanmar Relation in Imphal.
Indo-Myanmar Fraternal Alliance (IFA) president RK Shivachandra, former Thongju MLA Th Biswajit, BJP National Executive member Tapir Gao and Manipur BJP leader L Basanta Sharma recently visited New Delhi and they impressed upon Swaraj during a meeting to take up various steps to boost Indo-Myanmar relations.
Disclosing this to media persons at the IFA office, Kwakeithel, alliance President Shivachandra said a memorandum was submitted to the External Affairs Minister urging her to set up a centre for learning of Burmese and Thai languages and cultures, a guest house, a health cell for guiding Myanmarese patients coming to Manipur for medical treatment, among others within the proposed centre for Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Centre for Indo-Myanmar Relation.
Swaraj assured the team during the meeting that the Government of India would mull over the various opportunities to set up the centre, Shivachandra said.
