One run over, CSOs see red

Kangpokpi, January 19 2022:
A 23 year old man from Keithelmanbi Military Colony died after he was knocked down by a truck heading towards Imphal at Keithelmanbi early this morning.
Deceased Paotinseh Chongloi, the only son of Pasei Chongloi and Chinkhochong Chongloi of Keithelmanbi was a member of Guitanlou Bible Sim at Keithelmanbi Military Colony.
Reportedly, the truck fled after the incident.
Civil society organizations based in Kangpokpi led by Kuki Students' Organization Sadar Hills have resolved to ban all commercial trucks from plying along National Highway 2 from January 21 onwards if the accused doesn't surrender within 24 hours.
Speaking to media persons, Thangtinlen Haokip, general secretary KSO Sadar Hills, urged the State Government to book the culprit at the earliest.
There is no other option than to restrict the movement of all commercial trucks if the culprit doesn't surrender or is booked by the police, he said and appealed to the people of Manipur to extend support in finding the culprit so as to solve the matter amicably.
The body will not be claimed until the demand is fulfilled, he said.
