Imphal, November 18 2017:
Students of Sagang Government Higher Secondary School, today organised a sit in protest demanding the State Government to provide the required number of teachers at the school.
The school which was recently upgraded to higher secondary from high school has been facing several inconveniences including insufficient number of teachers.
The 2017-18 session has 90 students enrolled in the arts and science stream combined.
According to the students, the arts faculty has only one teacher and as such there is hardly any class.
Exam is near and date of form fill-up for examination is already out, yet there is no adequate number of teachers to teach the students", said one student.
The students appealed the State Government and the authority concerned to send the required number of teachers within seven days considering the hardship of the students and the school.
The students cautioned to boycott the upcoming examination if the authority concerned fails to send the required teachers within the stipulated time.
