Seminar on sustainable development in Sambu area held

Ukhrul, September 18 2024:
A one day seminar on 'Sustainable Development in Sambu area villages' was held at Ukhrul organised by Sambu Raiping Long at TTA Hall in Hamleikhong, Ukhrul yesterday.
Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keishing graced the seminar as the key resource person.
The MLA dwelt on multi pronged approaches to avail Government development projects from both State and the Centre.
Road connectivity, electricity, telecom, health care, and education are the key components for developing society, he said.
The MLA also assured to electrify the remaining unelectrified villages in Sahamphung Block in Consultation with the State Government.
Leishiyo further stressed that only when there is peace and unity in society, development can take place.
Speaking about the delimitation exercise of 2026, he informed that it will be based on demographic size and population of the region and as a result the seat of MLAs will be increased.
Meanwhile, Ramnganing Zimik, MFS, also attended as resource person.
Over 220 representatives from 23 villages under Sahamphung Block graced the seminar.
