Lockdown: PMGKAY rice distributed in districts; aids continue to pour in

With the initiative of Noney District Administration, PMGKAY (Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana) rice have reached most of the concerned villages with Sub-Divisional Officers handing over their respective share to the village authorities.
The rice for villages under Longmai & Haochong Sub Division were distributed by volunteers of Longmai Nature Club.
Meanwhile, rice in the villages within Noney district HQs, was distributed today by the village authority in the presence of Zino Kamei, ADC Member, Longmai Segment, with the assistance of volunteers of RNYOM Longmai Luangrian & clubs' members of the concerned Ward/Part.

The packages of the rice were home delivered by the volunteers & concerned club members to around 1100 households of Longmai village including those staying in the rented house.
The Assistant Commandant of F/86 Bn CRPF, Oinam Sandyarani Chanu, OC Noney Post, have reached out to the widow and poor families of Longmai today.
The relief items were distributed to those who were left out on the distribution programme held on April 16 at Longmai Part-4 ground, in connection with the total lockdown to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, reports our correspondent.
Imphal East: PMGKY rice were also distributed at Sabungkhok under Lamlai Kendra in Imphal East.
5 kg of rice per head (above 5 years) for each NSFA card holding households were distributed apart from non-locals who were pre-registered.
Local MLA, Ksh Biren has reportedly made a special arrangement for those who skipped registration and who are not NFSA beneficiaries.
Edibles distributed at Angtha
Edibles were distributed at 5 localities of Angtha under Andro Assembly Constituency by "Youths of Angtha", a WhatsApp Group to help ease the hardships faced by the residents during the lockdown.
Kakching: Social Workers, local representatives and committees continue to serve the residents in their respective localities across Kakching districts today.
Pradhan of Hayel Hangoon Gram Panchayat, Md Sikandar Ali also extended 3 kg rice each to 1350 households under his GP apart from handing out edible oil, salt.
Meanwhile, Wabagai Keirak COVID-19 Relief Committee has also distributed edibles to around 3,500 households within Wabagai and Keirak Gram Panchayats.
Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency MLA, Dr Y Radheshyam has also started helping the residents within his AC, who are affected by the lockdown due to COVID-19 with rations through Hiyanglam Kendra COVID-19 Relief Committee.
The distribution carried out with relief committee members, will be done phase wise and in the first phase, 4,000 most backward households will be covered.
Apart from distribution of edibles, disinfectants were extensively sprayed at various locations.
Face masks, hand sanitizers and disinfectants were also distributed to various Police Stations, Outposts and localities on the occasion.
The committee also expects to cover 10,000 households in the AC in the next phase where, mustard oils, dal, salt and potatoes will be distributed.
While appealing all to strictly follow the safety guidelines issued by the authorities concerned, the MLA also urged to refrain from rumours and spreading fake news.
Chandel: Chairman of Autonomous District Council Chandel, D Ringo Lamkang has also joined the fight against COVID-19 by distributing edibles in his Aihang District Council Constituency at his own expense.
250 households under Komsen, Kumuching, Nungkangching and Mahou Tera villages were covered on the first day and other remaining localities will be reached phase-wise, said ADC Chandel Chairman who also extended monetary assistance to the villages.
Meanwhile in a goodwill gesture, District Sports Association, Chandel has distributed and offered refreshment to the District Police personnel, Doctors, nurses and medical staff who are performing their duties at District Hospital, Chandel who are working relentlessly for the welfare of the people in this crucial time.

The distribution programme was inaugurated at Keinou Thongkha Community Hall in the presence of Oinam AC MLA, L Radhakishore; SDO Nambol, Ch Bobo, Pradhan of Keinou Gram Panchayat, Ng Sobhana local Meira Paibi representatives.
Under the scheme, 5 kg of rice will be distributed to all beneficiaries above 6 years of age.
4 bags of rice, salt and edible oils were also distributed to Network for Positive People Moirang inmates by District Administration through SDO Moirang.
Distribution of edible work was also carried out at Thamnapokpi-Ngangkhalawai GP Ward No 6 by the Ward Member Kh Rajen.
Thoubal: Edibles were also distributed to around 1750 households in Khongjom and Samaram areas.
