Sports, art & culture bring unity among people: Gaikhangam

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has said that sports and art & culture help to unite people and promote peace and harmony in the State.
He was speaking as Chief Guest during the reception ceremony of the players of Gaipuinam United Football Association (GUFA), which recently clinched the winner's title of Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament-2013, at Gaipuinam Village today.
Gaikhangam further said that everyone must have equal responsibility towards creating a healthy and progressive society regardless of one's caste or community.
The people must be proud of Manipur being called the "Power House of Sports" and also as the land with rich art and culture, the Deputy CM noted.
Attending as the functional President, MLA of Wangkhei A/C Y Erabot encouraged the players to devote their precious time and labour in their field of sports and bring laurels to the State.
The reception ceremony was also attended by Vice-Chairman of Manipur Legislative Assembly Hills Areas Committee (HAC) Kikhonbou Newmai as Guest of Honour.
The triumphant footballers of Gaipuinam United Football Association (GUFA) were presented gifts by the dignitaries during the ceremony.
