Inclusion of Muslim pictures in theme, stalls of Sangai Fest urged

Manipuri Muslims Online Forum (MMOF) called upon the responsible authority to include stalls representing the culture and social life of Manipuri Muslims in the coming edition of Sangai Festival, 2013 .
In an appeal, MMOF pointed out that Manipuri Muslims, locally known as Meitei-Pangals, are inherent fabric of the diversity that Manipuri society represents.
"We have a history of more than 400 years in this land and have been part of turbulent times and harmonious existence that comprise the glorious past of this "Jewel of India" .
Some of the prominent Muslims had highly recognizable contribution in sports, economic, social and political sphere of Manipuri society.
Sangai Festival is mirror to Manipur's socio-cultural and socio-economic landscape.
Manipuri Muslims Online Forum request the responsible authority to include stalls representing the culture and social life of Manipuri Muslims in the coming edition of Sangai festival.
The stall will trengthen the identity of this backward community and integrity of Manipuri society.
An urgent decision in this regard should be taken by the Department of Art and Culture and the minister and MLAs from Muslim community", the Forum demanded.
