Imphal, September 17, 2012:
Even as the BOSEM authority has notified issuance of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) forms at five different venues since Sunday, the demand for issuance of the forms and arrangement of TET exam centre at all district head-quarters continue to pour in.
While citing the untold hardships faced by aspirants from other districts in obtaining the forms, the Naga Students Union, Chandel (NSUC) has today urged the BOSEM authority to issue the form and arrange exam centre at all district headquarters.
A statement issued by the general secretary of NSUC, P Wango also urged the authority for the extension of the last date of form submission.
It further warned that any untoward consequences arising due to the dereliction of the demands raised by the students' body would be the sole responsibility of the concerned Minister and the BOSEM authority.
Meanwhile, strongly condemning the administration of the State Education department for its alleged 'unequel' treatment of tribal students in regard to the second TET exam, the Thadou Students' Association (TSA) General Headquarters said it endorsed the strike called by KSO (Ghqs) from 5am of September 19, according to a statement issued by the president of TSA, Lamminlun Singsit.
Earlier, many organisations including KSO (Gen Hqtrs), SDSA, CDSU, TKS, ZSUM have demanded that TET forms be issued at all district headquarters and the same exam be conducted at all district headquarters so as to avoid inconvenience faced by aspirants from hill districts.
The KSO went a step ahead and announced a 48-hr state-wide general strike from September 19 if their demands are not considered positively by the authority concerned.
