Stop Diarrhoea Campaign launched in Chandel, Kakching districts

In line with the ongoing 'Stop Diarrhoea Campaign, 2024' across the country under the theme 'Zero deaths due to childhood diarrhoea', Deputy Commissioner Chandel, Mayanglambam Rajkumar launched the campaign in Chandel district today.
The launching programme was held at the District Hospital Chandel organised by the District Health Society Chandel on the theme 'Diarrhoea ki Roktham, Safar aur ORS se rakhein apna dhyaan'.
Speaking at the occasion, the DC called for collective efforts to ensure that the children in the district remain free from diarrhoea.
The DC appealed to the medical staff, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to make dedicated contributions for effective implementation of the campaign.
He also appealed to all to consult the certified doctors in hospitals or health centres whenever one suffers from diarrhoea rather than taking medicines without proper consultation.
The inaugural programme was also attended by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Chandel, Dr Joyson Mathew Monsang and Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Chandel, Dr Serbum Shakchung Moyon as the special guests.
As a part of the launching programme, Staff nurse of District Hospital Chandel, Margaret Yulhung presented a demonstration on hand washing and Oral rehydration solution (ORS) preparation.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Kakching, Rohit Anand, IAS today launched the Stop Diarrhoea Campaign 2024 in the district under the theme 'Zero deaths due to Childhood Diarrhoea' at the Grace Cottage Academy, Kakching.
The programme was organised by the District Health Society, Kakching.
It may be noted that the campaign will continue till August 31, 2024 .
