Supporting BJP is like supporting CAB, says Dr Ratankumar

Imphal, March 17 2019: Vice president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Dr Kh Ratankumar has claimed that supporting BJP is like supporting the implementation of Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).

He made the claims during the launching ceremony of Chalo Panchayat Chalo Ward Abhiyan at Mayang Imphal Konchak today which was organised under the aegis of Mayang Imphal Block Congress Committee today.

He reminded that not long after the Bill failed to be tabled in the Rajya Sabha, BJP leader Amit Shah, while speaking in a public event in Assam, announced that the Bill will be tabled and passed again.

This shows that BJP will try to pass the said Bill using any means necessary he claimed adding that if anyone decides to vote for BJP in the coming election, it will be similar to agreeing to let the CAB be implemented.

The Congress party has been opposing the CAB since 2016 but the BJP has failed to take note of the stand of the people, he added.

Ratankumar also conveyed that the party also pressured the State Government to convene a special Assembly session even before the CAB was passed in the Lok Sabha on January 8.Pointing out that the Congress party has resolved to completely scrap the CAB if it is voted back to power, he said that AICC leader Rahul Gandhi will also reiterate the said stand during his visit to Manipur as well.

On the other hand, speaking at the event, MPCC general secretary, former MLA Md Amin Shah said that people are starting to lose trust in the BJP all over the country and not just in Manipur.

He then claimed that the BJP has failed to live up to all the huge promises it crowed to win the trust of the people.

Mayang Imphal BCC president Th Rajmohon and MPYCC president Md Amin Hussain were also present as well.
